Today is Sunday, October 19, 2025, and the No Kings Day protest is now behind us. But the purpose of the march—to stop the rise of one man rule in America—is only just beginning.
The protest was the largest and most successful in American history, with over 7 million proud Americans participating. I attended the events in Maplewood and Newark, New Jersey. The demonstrations were peaceful and non-confrontational throughout.

Contrary to the messaging coming from the Republican Party and the reports by Fox 5 News—which claimed the march was filled with hate and people who wanted to destroy America—the protest was about love of country and a deep respect for the Constitution.
There was a diverse group of Americans in attendance, united by a variety of concerns. Yet, there were no personal attacks or incidents of violence—not a single arrest. Many came in costume, carrying a sea of signs addressing the issues plaguing this administration and the nation. I saw messages like “No Kings in America,” “Release the Epstein File” and “Mikey Sherill for NJ. Governor—End the Shutdown Now.” There were also many signs directly opposing President Trump and his policies—calling them divisive, hateful, destructive, racist, and contrary to the will of the American people.
