The Dangerous Effects of Carbon Pollution on the Planet and What America Doing to Stop it from Happening
By Marcus M. Stratford | June 12, 2023
In a stunning move to ameliorate America’s and the world’s crisis for climate control, the Republican’s pushed through an energy bill in hopes of curtailing climate change and lowering the economic threshold on the American citizens. However, as a result of the two waring fractions, the democrat’s vs the republicans, this bill lost its steam once it arrived at the desk of the democratic leadership.
Republicans catapulted this bill to the senate for immediate ratification in hopes of accelerating the energy production, growing a slow economy, and reduce prices by initiating competition in the market. Notwithstanding, President Joe Biden vowed to veto the bill once it reached his desk. It was the largest legislative win for the republicans since taking control of the house in January of 2023.
Kevin McCarthy, the 55th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives said, paraphrasing his words, “Upon the passage of this important bill, we have now moved the energy bill forward to be reviewed and expedited by the senate. We made a promise to the American people that we would reduce their energy cost which is surging in every direction.
The bill that has been forwarded to the senate democrats does precisely that, and we have done so because we care not only for the American people, and that they retain more of their hard-earned money, but we also care specifically about lowering energy cost. Coupled with that, we will reduce global emissions — thereby making America and the world a safer place to live for years to come.”
Global warming is having a devastating effect on multiple weather-related conditions affecting not only America but the entire world. Yet everyone knows the republican bill does not have a chance of passing through the democratic controlled senate or their precious leader, President Joe Biden. It’s a game of power setup with winners and losers.
The American peoples needs and wants are secondary — especially during an election year. It’s not only disgusting, but a dangerous undertaking! We are at a point were the weather extremes and storms are accelerating and causing insurmountable property damage and deaths. At times, I feel America would be better off with a one-party system, thereby reducing so much back and forth and partisan politics. Take a vote on the issues and done.
As was noted, opposition to the Republican energy bill was met with harsh criticism by the democratic body, who says that the republican bill is directly counterproductive to the stabilization and reduction of greenhouse gases. Which in effect is one of the most highly vital steps toward reversing climate change in America and around the world among other countries.
Chuck Schumer, the Majority Leader of the United States Senate called the republican’s bill “A Wish List for Big Oil.” He promised that it would be dead on arrival even before seeing it. This is a precarious cat and mouse game by both political parties on an issue of extreme importance to the American people and the world.
The Republicans and the Democrat’s must begin to work in harmony on issues of this monumental importance for the American people as their future, and the future of their children are at stake. If we continue to drag our feet, a time will come where the government won’t have an opportunity to act. As the “Climate Clock is ticking and our time to fix it is become exponentially worse.
The American people are also not blameless. People have the tendency to feel when it comes to their list of priorities, carbon pollution should not be at the top of things to worry about, especially with the rise in cost for daily essentials such as: food, housing, clothing, gasoline, etc… Plus, they think it’s somebody else’s problem and thereby won’t affect their way of life. However, “Carbon Pollution” is everyone living on this planet’s issue, and yes, it’s global.
Why should you worry? First and foremost, it’s a problem which is now causing the earth to warm-up and fast. Greenhouse gases are a good thing when properly regulated. Without greenhouse gases, our planet would become too cold for human existence. However, today we are generating too much “Greenhouse Gas” that’s going into the atmosphere at an alarming rate and becoming trapped.
In the right amount, gases like carbon dioxide, nitrous, methane, etc., are good for the planet but as with everything in moderation is key. This is not the case now, currently we are overloading the earth’s atmosphere with gases that are becoming trapped in the sun’s heat making the earth much warmer than it should be, causing more severe and dangerous weather patterns. As evidence with today’s rising temperature and the sharp worsening of natural disasters worldwide; including storms, tornados, brush fires, floods, drought, and lingering heatwaves.
On Saturday, April 2, 2023, 50 tornados touched down across the south and mid-west: Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, and one in the Northeast: Delaware. In total, tornados killed 21 people and caused [billions] of dollars in damage. According to “Worldwidelife.org.,” the outcome(s) of global warming are rising sea levels, melting glaciers, and warming of our oceans which can directly harm animals, destroy the places where they live, along with wreaking havoc on people’s livelihood, community and individual’s health and welfare.
It was additionally revealed by “Worldwide Life,” To adequately address the climate crisis, we must urgently reduce carbon pollution or prepare for the consequences of global warming if we do nothing or too little.” We are already experiencing some of its effects on our planet.
Just look at today’s weather pattern for yourself. From the biggest natural disasters of Hurricane Sandy and Ida that wreaked havoc on the Tri-State: New York, New Jersey and Connecticut (causing billions of dollars in property damage and loss of life) to the catastrophe’s in the Southern regions of the United States: Georgia, Mississippi, Texas, Florida, and the Carolina’s. It has been determined that if we do not find a way to reduce Greenhouse Gases not only nationally but worldwide, these most startling recent disasters will be pale in comparison to future events.
Climate Change Effects
Large vehicles stuck on roadsides due to flooding on streets after heavy rains that lasted literally for days. All as a direct result of climate change caused by humans.
Drone shot of the after mass from disastrous storms and hurricanes cultivated by the changing weather because of climate change on the planet.
Whole communities turned into rivers from torrential rains that caused massive flooding and spillover from nearby lakes, as well as causing many fatalities.
Beach front houses gets slammed by raging coastal storms with high waves and winds. Winds that cost billions in property damage, and life each year.
