By Shelly A. Berger | June 12, 2024

President Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, has recently been found guilty on gun charges, sparking a wave of speculation about what his next steps will be and how much time he could be looking at prison behind bars. Additionally, there are questions surrounding whether President Biden will choose to pardon his son, he said he would not, considering the familial ties and potential impact on his presidency and legacy. Therefore, in this article I will exam the historical context, key figures, charges against Hunter Biden, potential consequences, and the likelihood of a presidential pardon.

First and foremost, it is crucial to understand the circumstances surrounding Hunter Biden’s case. Hunter Biden, a lawyer and businessman, has been a key figure in political circles due to his father’s prominent political career. However, his personal life has been marred by many controversies, including substance abuse issues and allegations of unethical business dealings as well as salacious sexual encounters while engaged in crack cocaine. These factors have contributed to the scrutiny and attention surrounding his recent legal troubles related to the current gun verdict and tax charges—where Hunter failed to pay $1.4 million in federal taxes for the periods: 2016 – 1019.

The gun charges against Hunter Biden stem from an incident in which he falsified documents in order to obtain a firearm. Specifically, he lied on the required paperwork by stating that he had not used illegal drugs when, in fact, he had a history of substance abuse. This violation of federal law carries serious consequences, including potential prison time and fines. As a result, Hunter Biden is facing scrutiny from both legal authorities and the public eye.

It all started with a labyrinth of lies and seedy tales of drug addiction, Hunter Biden has been caught like many who indulged in the illegal drug market and purchased a gun to protect themselves from harm. He face several years in prison for his action, but I really don’t think he will spend any time in jail. However, time will tell. His father said he would not pardon him, but if Kamala Harris wins, she most likely will.

In terms of potential consequences, Hunter Biden could be looking at a significant amount of time behind bars if found guilty. The severity of his charges, combined with his previous legal history, could result in a lengthy prison sentence. Additionally, he may face fines and other penalties as a result of his actions. These potential repercussions have raised questions about how Hunter Biden will navigate this challenging situation and what impact it will have on his future.

In conclusion, the case of Hunter Biden’s gun charges has raised numerous questions and uncertainties about his future and the potential involvement of his father, President Joe Biden. Now that Hunter has been found guilty, and his father passing the torch of his candidacy for a second term to his Vice president Kamala Harris, one must wonder if their was a deal made that should she succeed him as president, that Kamala would pardon his son? And should President Joe Biden himself get dragged into Hunter’s criminal dealings with forein governments, etc., leaving it to the new president to wipe-clean any current or potential investigations on the matters.

Ultimately, the outcome of this case and others will have far-reaching implications for both Hunter Biden and the Biden administration, highlighting the complex intersection of personal, legal, and political considerations in the criminal justice system.
