Specific Job Requirements
- Possess a strong passion for fashion, truth in news reporting, story telling, and being a people person.
- Have excellent writing and editing skills, and the ability to communicate well orally with a diverse population.
- The ability to manage budgets, and supervise a multicultural staff of writers, and other creative personnel.
- Creating and executing a defined series of stories and content which aligns with BUTO’s objectives, and its audience needs as well as the ability to adapt to change.
- Communicate with regular as well as proactive discussions with the managing editor regarding deadlines, personnel, and storylines.
- Communicate with multiple teams and team members from an array of disciplines, i.e., (design, business development, strategist, photographers, web designers, etc.)
- Provide overall magazine creative input, creative problem-solving, and editing as requested by management.
- Meeting individual and departmental metrics and goals established by leadership.
- Must be willing to work on both, BUTO’s digital and print versions of the magazine, and other assignment related to BUTO’s interest in promoting it properties. Must be able to travel when required.
- Ability to conduct in-person and zoom like meetings and presentations, and collaborate with BUTO’s personnel worldwide.
- Possess an in-depth knowledge of social media, and be an internet savvy fashion enthusiast, having a complete understanding of emerging trends of both women and men.
- Ability to work independently or in a team setting, and be self-motivated, self-starter and a have the willingness to learn new concepts. Additionally, able to work on multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications
- BS/BS in Journalism, English or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Two to three years of editing experience—preferably magazines.
- Solid and demonstrated experience in writing, reporting on, and editing news worthy and relevant stories.
- Project management, production trafficking or scheduling experience with a solid track record.
- Ability to work in a deadline driven environment.
- Familiarity with digital and print magazine layout and production.
- Must be organized, focused, and goal oriented, along with the ability to accept new and unexpected assignments.
