The New and the Traditional Muslim Woman.

A BRIEF HISTORY

A brief history of the hijab. Islamic teaching inform us that God requested women to wear the hijab to achieve first modesty, and two, to redirect the focus and thoughts of both men and women from the world of materialism. The hijab, veil, or headscarf is a piece of clothing worn to cover them from head to toe. Therefore moving all of one’s attention toward the spiritual world and the principals of God. It was a custom that emulated Muhammad’s wives, who are revered as “Mothers of the believers” in Islam, and states “there was no tradition of veiling until around 627 C.E.” in the Muslim community. Since there was no mention of hijab colors in the Quran, it was safe for a woman to wear whatever color she desired, so long as she covered her hair, dressed modestly, and not wear something too flashy or bright.

Today’s Muslim women do wear makeup, but they do so while in keeping with their religious convictions. When a true Muslim woman apply lipstick and makeup, they do so in moderation, and in accordance with Islamic teachings. They apply their makeup in a manner to not be showy, sloppy, or improper. Normally, they stick to more neutral or bland colors to not draw negative attention. Muslim women also use halal beauty products to ensure they not breach the religious Islamic laws governing their lives.

Muslim Women Nowadays are Decorating their Hijabs to be more Chic and Stylish while maintaining her Religious Dignity and Respect...

Today’s Muslim women are more fashionable. Nowadays, the Muslim woman is just as stylish as her gentile counterpart (to a point), as Muslim women don’t believe in dressing as provocative. However, they do have a tendency to wear clothing/hijab a bit more chic for her wedding, an office meeting, or a party — which is now acceptable and widespread among female Muslims. Although Muslim wear enhanced decorative hijabs, they are still respectful and supportive her modesty and strong religious beliefs. Muslim women are moving from the once traditional color choices of the hijab.  Women use to wear brown to warm skin-tone, and neutral colors like cream, latte, chocolate warm beige and taupe. In keeping with todays fashion, Muslim women now wear a bit more radiant, and colorful choices as green, yellow, purple as well as floral and design prints/embroideries (textile fabrics). Today’s Muslim women are not only stylish and classy, they are intelligent and a highly motivational and a powerful force to reckon with as she monitors and control her family and household.

Below, a defining look at the "New and Modern Hijab vs the More Traditional by culture," both equally as compelling.

The Muslim Wedding

There are four different types of Muslim marriages, and those are: the Sahih, Batil, Fasid, and the Muta. All marriages must adhere to specific ceremonies and conditions in order to be valid by the respective sect. The wedding dress can vary for the various sects and cultures. Below, I have presented you with a pictorial of some of the various styles of Muslim women gowns from the extraordinary to the more traditional and simpler to your more natural floral embroidered dresses.

According to the Quran, the Muslim wedding is a divine experience, and a married Muslim couple is equated with clothing. And within this context, the husband and wife are each other's protector and comforter as the real garments "illustrate and conceal" the body of human beings. Therefore, they are indeed meant "for one another."

The Principals of Her Make-up Made Simple

When it comes to makeup, traditional Muslim women applies their makeup sparingly, and normally stay away from the flashier colors. For one they do not want to draw the wrong attention or cause conflict within their relationship or their faith: as in the purifying act of ablution (washing of one’s body or part thereof) prior to them praying as in their religious rites. Plus, within the Muslim faith, modesty is always the key to a Godly and forthright life. Interestingly, in many Muslim arenas, makeup is becoming almost more important than breathing fresh air, as younger Muslim women have succumbed to the beauty and cosmetic markets. In particular, the halal beauty market who will have experienced a growth rate of approximately $52 billion dollars plus by the end of this year. The halal beauty products are the standard used by Muslim women because they do not include animal products or genetically engineered (GMOs) ingredients in their products, which are not in keeping with Muslim/Islamic law due to its’ uncleanliness.
