God's Plan is Never Forsaken
Women Of Today, Are They The Garden Of Eden's Genius Or Its Mistake?
RELIGION | OPINION
In this article, I take a closer look at women in relationship to their creation and significance in society. I believe everyone one who have been created by God plays a role in this glorious life. But lately, I have been particularly curious specifically about women and their virtues, including their morals, social skills, and their intellectual capacity. Which I find these values to be purposeful and essential for spreading joy, and living a robust and peaceful life.

As I began to review the Bible in search for answers to my quest for information about my illustrious but quite mysterious counterpart, the woman. I naturally turned to the “Book of Genesis.” It describes in the beginning of time, when the Lord God fashioned the world, He created all in existence, which initially included Adam, the first human, from the earth. Adam curiously dwelled in the lust of the Garden of Eden, where every need was met and all the creatures lived in complete harmony.
On the outside, Adam appeared happy and contempt, however, inside he felt alone and yearned for companionship — someone to explore and share in the glory of creation. The Lord God, sensing Adam’s loneliness and longing for companionship, He placed Adam into a deep sleep. Miraculously, God created a beautiful companion for Adam to share his life on earth. Her name was Eve — the first woman. Eve was the perfect match for Adam as they were completely yoked and melded together naturally in everyway right down to the physical attributes. As Adam woke from his deepened sleep, and got the first glimpse of his magnificent partner, Eve, he exclaimed with joy — this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh: Eve shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of man,” making us one in spirit, mind, and physicality.
Together, both Adam and Eve thrived in paradise, tending to the garden and enjoying the bountiful fruits of God’s creation. They walked in intimate fellowship with thy Lord God, who bestowed upon them stewardship over the earth and all its creatures.
Unfortunately, this bliss enjoyed by Adam and Eve in paradise was not to last or remain untouched by human frailty. Temptation was in the mist by a serpent of the devil. His likely victim was Eve, Adam’s trusted partner. It was a “gotcha” moment as Eve succumbed to the allure of the forbidden fruit and coerced Adam to also take a bite of the fruit. It was at that precise time where sin entered the world, and with it came the consequences and strife which now reverberates throughout the world into future generations.
The fact that God created woman after Adam does not diminish her credibility or purpose in this world. In fact, it has enhanced her role by allowing her to identify and address flaws in the path of humanity before they become insurmountable.
Many people as myself, have pondered whether Eve’s actions represented God’s mistake — an imperfection in God’s creation. Yet, the Bible reveals a quite different truth. Both Adam and Eve were created in the image of God, endowed with free will and the capacity to choose for themselves. Their disobedience was a reflection of that freedom, and not an error in design.
Throughout the scriptures, women are depicted as instruments of God’s grace and agents of His purpose. From Sarah, who bore a child in her old age, to Deborah, a judge and prophetess who led Israel in battle, and Ester, who courageously saved her people — women played a pivotal in God’s unfolding plan of redemption and restoration.
Moreover, in the New Testament, Jesus elevated the status of women, treating them with dignity and respect in a culture where they were often marginalized. He engaged in meaningful dialog with women like the Samaritan women at the well and Mary Magdalene, who became witnesses to His ministry and resurrection.
The Apostle Paul, in his letters, affirmed the equality of men and women in Christ, declaring, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
From Genesis to Revelations, the Bible portrays women not as mistakes but as integral to God’s divine plan. They are valued, cherished, and called to fulfill unique roles in His kingdom. They embody God’s genius — a reflection of His creativity, wisdom, and boundless love for all humanity.
Consequently, as we contemplate the narrative of women in Scripture, let us recognize and celebrate their contributions, strengths, and the beauty of their diversity. They are not God’s mistake but His cherished creations, fearfully and wonderfully made to fulfill His purpose in the world.
